Imbiba invests in Pindrop Hearing, a premium clinical audiology business
Imbiba has recently completed a strategic growth capital investment in Pindrop Hearing (www.pindrophearing.co.uk), a leading private clinical audiology business, founded by one of the UK’s leading audiologists, Dr Rony Ganguly.
A premium clinical audiology business
Since opening its flagship Harley Street clinic in 2017, Pindrop Hearing has established itself as a centre of clinical excellence, combining evidence-based audiology with exceptional patient care.
Founder Dr Rony Ganguly, a highly regarded clinical audiologist with over 20 years’ experience, previously worked at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, lectured at the UCL Ear Institute and was former Chairman of the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals (AIHHP). Pindrop has excellent referral relationships with GPs, ENT consultants and private medical networks across London.
Pindrop now operates three premium locations at Harley Street, Chelsea and Winchmore Hill, delivering advanced diagnostics, vestibular services and unbiased hearing aid provision across all major manufacturers.
What the investment will enable
Imbiba’s investment will support and accelerate the roll-out of Pindrop Hearing across carefully selected catchments in London and the South of England.
The partnership will enable:
Expansion into new premium high street locations
Continued investment in advanced diagnostics and vestibular services
Further strengthening of the clinical team and recruitment of leading audiologists
The build-out of the finance and operational infrastructure to support multi-site growth
A strengthened board to support growth
Jonathan Gardner, former Managing Director of Boots Hearingcare, will join as Chairperson. Jonathan led the rapid scale-up of Boots Hearingcare from 100 to 500 rooms, during both the KKR and Walgreens ownerships.
He has since held CEO roles in multiple private equity-backed healthcare platforms, including KKR-backed businesses, bringing significant experience in roll-out strategy and value creation.
In addition to Jonathan, Imbiba’s Heidi Duckworth and Andrew Guest will join the board alongside Royston Guest, who has advised Pindrop on growth strategy for a number of years.
Why Imbiba is backing Pindrop Hearing
Heidi Duckworth, Partner at Imbiba, commented:
“Pindrop represents a truly premium clinical platform in a structurally growing market. Rony has built an outstanding reputation for clinical excellence and patient care. We believe there is a significant opportunity to roll out this model into other locations, delivering unbiased, customer-centric audiology services of the highest quality.”
Dr Rony Ganguly, Founder and CEO of Pindrop Hearing, said:
“We have always focused on providing the highest standards of clinical audiology, centred around patient care and independence. Partnering with Imbiba allows us to accelerate our expansion, bringing our model to more communities while maintaining the standards that define Pindrop.”
Looking ahead
The partnership marks the next stage in Pindrop’s evolution from a highly regarded clinical practice to a scalable premium audiology business.
With demographic tailwinds, increasing private demand and a clear strategy focused on clinical quality, service excellence and unbiased product provision, Pindrop Hearing is well placed to redefine how private audiology services are delivered in the UK.
